I must be doing something wrong. I posted Christmas pictures in an album in my gallery because I was was trying to participate in Bob's thread requesting a link to a Christmas album. Then I moved the images so they would show up in the Monthly Challenge: Holiday Spirit. That moved them out of the album I created and deleted the album. Can I have images in an album and assign them to the Monthly Challenge?

Just guessing here...
You can have pictures in more than one gallery, edit the photo and choose Copy To rahter than Change category
Maybe the album wasn't deleted, it just doesn't show if there are no images in it? See if you can select it when uploading a new picture

You seem to be right, sort of. I copied the image but the album didn't appear, though it does exist as you suggested, i.e., wasn't displaying because there were no images in it. In album administration the image appears but the album itself doesn't show and the stats tell me there are no images in the album. Confusing. Maybe Steve will know the one obvious thing I'm missing.

Everything seems to be working, now. Thanks Anders.
I seem to be struggling with the website interface today. How do I create a thumbnail for the album on the first page of my gallery?

I think it will show the album as soon as you have anything in it. However, I had problems when switching around with the fact that somewhere, the previous page is cached. I'm not sure if it was IE or some proxy server that did the caching, but either way it's necessary to press F5 (or whatever is "Refresh" in your browser). Then the page will be updated to include the album.

Anyone know how to create a thumbnail for an album in the gallery?

If you've lost the image and it shows up as a white rectangle, then you should try the "edit" function which has a rebuild thumbnail option. I've had to do that a few times after rearranging pictures. Sometimes they lose the thumbnail, and the rebuild restores if.

Where's the edit function for the album?

Not on the album, on the image itself. The album just picks the most recent upload file, whatever that happens to be.
Hmmm, is the problem that you can't get "into" the album to do the editing?

I can get into the album and everything functions as it should. I rebuilt thumbnails for four of the images, but the album thumbnail is still broken. Frustrating.

Maybe the thing to do is make a new album and move all the pics over, then delete the old album. There might also be some "admin" thing that Steve can run to find/fix the problem.

Steve to the rescue again! And I learned something. To make an image the thumbnail for your album, go to Album Admin, then Sort Photos. There is a link under each photo to make that image the thumbnail for your album.

Great, that's very useful!
