Here's a shot that breaks the "no face no shot rule"...and yes a foul was called.

I'm nort sure it breaks the rule... the face is the main point of the picture, you just can't see it, so to speak. At least you see enough of it to get the point. :)

Rules are meant to be broken and this pic is an example of breaking the "so called" ....."no face, no pic" rule. Its a good shot......I wouldn't have even applied the "rule" to it.

Isn't the rule about breaking rules that "You must first understand the rules, then you can break them". Well, I think Steve well understands the rules, so he's also allowed to break them...
It's definitely a good shot.
As Bob says "Rules are for breking". But at the same time, you need to know when you should/can break the rules and when not.

Sometimes, I break a rule that I didn't even know was a rule.......

Oh, sure. I do that all the time too. But that's when you end up in trouble with the "rulers" (law/police officers, parking attendants, teachers, picture editors, etc).

Yea, I was just talking about this "breaking the rules" topic. :D
I mentioned once an HBO documentary called "Picture Perfect: The Stories Behind the Greatest Photos in Sports", two famous pictures featured on the show also didn't contain the subjects face in the shot. One of Babe Ruth and the other of the golfer Ben Hogan.
BTW, nice pic Steve, your best capture I've seen is the one posted in the "Your Current Favorite Photo" thread.

Nik....went to the link for the Haggin Museum and found that great shot of "The Babe" but scrolling through others came upon this photograph which is currently at the Museum of Modern Art so I shot it. (.....and the rule is literally broken!)
