Today at the USGP

What a mob! I staked out my turf in front of David Coulthard's garage, but he never showed up. It was elbow to elbow until they ran everybody out.

This little guy was having a great time. He was decked out in a firesuit and getting the grand tour.

Cute kid.. That's a pretty neat little firesuit (from your other pics.) I'll have to show my wife, our son looks about his age -- would of had a blast.

Thanks for sharing the photos.. Man it was crowded! I would have went out there if I knew it was going to be that crowded. I didn't think there was going to be anything to shoot photo/video-wise for online.

JPM walked the line signing tons of autographs - but of course he turned and left before he got close to where I was.

There was a couple next to me with a piece of Coulthards car from 2 years ago - one sidepanel from a rear wing. They were desperately trying to get him to come out to sign it. Funny thing is the crew kept eyeing the piece. Finally one came out and asked her to turn it over so he could look at it- turns out he wanted the serial # off the back of it. He went back inside, the couple started making comments like, "Get ready to run." They thought they were about to have their souvenier taken away. A bit later the guy came out with a one-page printout off their computer of it's history/usage, and gave it to them. Pretty cool.

Re: Today at the USGP

I got to meet JPM at the car swap with Jeff Gordon stunt back in June.. He is a really nice guy -- or at least he seemed to be and what I've read..

I think it's good that some of the guys did the walk like that.. I think that's a problem with F1 -- the drivers aren't as accessible to the fans as they are in the other series. I'm guessing that the majority of the folks out there today were out of towners..

That was pretty nice of them to take interest in their souveneir -- I would have thought the same thing: Maybe they want it back?

Man, I'm looking forward to getting out there.. I've not gotten out in a week to shoot.

Re: Today at the USGP

I was supposed to shoot that...ended up shooting Michael Jackson in Gary instead. I heard the rides around the track for the media were awesome.
