Bringing summer to a close, singer/songwriter Ben Harper bought his band, The Innocent Criminals, and their version of bluesy, folksy, rockin’ soul to The White River State Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. Harper delightfully combines blues, soul, R&B, and rock & roll, which has delivered high marks from critics and high fives from college kids. Fans showed up at 2pm (Harper took the stage at 8:30pm) and weathered intermittent rain outside the gates in order to grab prime real estate at the front of the stage at what was possibly the largest concert crowd of the season at White River. Harper ripped into “Burn To Shine” to begin his set, and he and his audience never looked back.
