A used 1D instead of a 1D Mark II?

I'm thinking about options for a second camera, to add to my 10D. What's your thoughts on a used 1D? Now that the 1D Mark II is coming out there should be used 1D bodies available at decent prices pretty soon. The 1D is still of course a very competent camera, and would give me some of the features (quicker AF for one) that the 1D Mark II has. Or is the Mark II such a big step up that it's unavoidable?

I'll sell my used 1D's for say $3500 each, once I can get the MK-II.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying a good used 1D at a reasonable price. Only you can determine how much the extra goodness of the MK-II is worth to you.

It will be interesting to see where the used 1D market ends up. It is still an outstanding camera that is extremely capable. It may end up being one of the better bargains for serious photographers.

Hmm... I wonder if a 1D will ever end up costing less than a 1VHS..?

What happened with the EOS D2000? I guess the D2000 is the closest thing you get to a 1D predecessor (atleast it cost a pretty penny...)? Probably a poor benchmark since 1D was among the first DSLRs to be considered equal to 35mm film?
