Canon 1D Mark II vs. Canon 1DS Resolution

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not as technical as some on this forum. So please correct me if I'm wrong in this logic:

Assume you have a 1D Mark II and a 1DS
You're shooting with the same focal length at the same distance
You're shooting the same subject
1D mark II = 8 MP
1DS = 11 mp
1D Mark II has 1.3 "multiplier"
1DS has no multiplier

Assuming the 1d Mark II was a full frame shot, and you cropped the 1DS shot to achieve the identical framing, Tthe actual resolution of the usable image is pretty close. Obviously if you fill the frame with both cameras using differnt lenses this would not be the case.

Re: Canon 1D Mark II vs. Canon 1DS Resolution

If the 1D2 was full frame it would have a 13.52 MP based on it being a 8 MP camera.

If the 1Ds was cropped in the case you described it would be 6.5 MP based on it being a an 11 MP camera. Pretty close but with the weaker AA the 1D may appear as if it had more info
