About 2 1/2' diameter including legs, and about 1 1/2' tall, he was completely unafraid of me as I took his picture, and, in fact, advanced on me with pincers held high like a boxer! Taken at 80' off of Santa Catalina Island, CA.

Scary!

Catalina is cool. We went on one of those night boat trips. Not quite the same as diving, but it was fun!
