Stan, you generally do a nice job of capturing our winged friends. This one is my favorite of today's postings. Two things I think would help take you to the next level. One is to try to fill the frame more with the bird and the other is to get lower angles on swimming birds. I realize it's not always possible and you're often standing on a shore that is higher than the water surface, and those animals usually swim away to a safe distance, but it's something to work toward. If you can get closer to eye level it helps the viewer better connect with the animal.

Thanks, Gary. I appreciate your suggestions and will keep them in mind. The angle is indeed a problem. These critters are very wild as you know and just don't tolerate proximity. A lot of my seabird shots are taken from my boat which serves as the blind if you open the door real carefully. But my angles are pretty much predetirmined. I see your point and as you say, it is something I can work toward.
