Pros: awesome, color, focusing, sharpness,bokeh,build
Cons: weight

It must be the best lens that Canon builds. It focuses quickly, quietly and smoothly. The color and clarity is great. I love this lens and I got a great deal on it.

Pros: Speed, Quality, Image clarity, IS
Cons: None

What can you say about this lens that hasn't already been said? It's better than an equiv. Sigma as it has IS and a beautiful Bokeh when wide open. Cannot compare to say a Nikon lens, but it's at least equal.

Pros: Sharp and fast focusing, IS
Cons: None

The best in this focal range of zooms. Shoot wide open, not a problem. I recently started using this lens in low-lit gyms with the new 580EX flash and have had excellent results. For portraits, it excells as well.

Pros: Sharp, IS, Wide Open!
Cons: Attracts attention, slightly heavy & big

Have a digital rebel, after reading all of the reviews about good glass retaining value & recommendations about buying the best lens you can afford - I purchased one (second purchased lens - the first was the cheap but good 50 1.8). Do not regret it one bit. I'm no pro but the difference between this and the kit lens is HUGE.

Now I can get the bokeh I always wanted!

Pros: Image stabilisation, excels at panning, sharp, colours spot on
Cons: weight - take a monopod if using for more than half an hour

I have a 50 - 500mm Sigma lens and bought this. I prefer using it with a 2x converter to the longer lens as the lens will carry the drop in f stop. The shots are clear, sharp and panning stunning. Followed a pair of V8 Supercars doing 180 - 200kp/h at 1/40th of a second and the cars were sharp.

If you do sports photography - this lens will let you do what you alway wanted to but never could.
